What is GuardTrax™?
GuardTrax™ is a security force locator. It uses Global Positioning System (GPS) to acquire the location and position of a security officer performing their duties. The unit gathers other important data points including motion, time, heading and speed. Then GuardTrax™ transmits the data to a remote server via the GSM/GPRS wireless network. Finally the server processes the data, and posts it to a map-based (GIS) application with satellite imagery.
As a supervisor, how will I be notified about incidents that have been keyed in by the security officer?
When a security officer keys a specific 3-digit event code, GuardTrax™ transmits that code to the server. The server then quickly accesses a database of e-mail addresses and phone numbers of the individuals to be contacted for that exact event code.
How is GuardTrax™ different from other GPS location devices on the market?
The distinct difference is functionality. GuardTrax™ has three multi-function operational buttons on the front of the device. These pre-programmable buttons can be used to report up to 27 specific events or incidents during a security officer’s shift. Secondly, GuardTrax™ has a highly sensitive motion sensor.
What is significant about having a motion sensor?
The motion sensor inside GuardTrax™ will report whether the security guard is in motion or not, better enabling supervisors to determine if job duties are being appropriately performed.
How does GuardTrax™ help manage or diminish my business risk?
A very serious challenge in managing field security forces is accountability. For example, if a guard decided one evening to abandon an assigned post or the property, the security services firm or department incurs serious liabilities. With GuardTrax™, in that situation, supervisors of a location are immediately notified by e-mail or SMS message that the guard is in motion and has broken a pre-determined geo-fence. And, management can take appropriate action.
