Does GuardTrax™ work when a security officer enters a building?
Yes. GuardTrax™ has two primary communication components: GPS (location and tracking) and GSM (phone and data transmission). GuardTrax™ can send and receive phone calls and messages through the GSM phone network while inside of a building. However, all GPS technology works primarily outside where the device has a clear line of sight with the sky (ie GPS satellites). Thus, establishing a true GPS location reading while inside a building is not always possible. Depending upon the structural makeup of a building, there are many instances where GuardTrax™ can establish a GPS connection inside a building. However, for the vast majority of hardened buildings, the GPS component of the GuardTrax™ will not work.

Must every security officer in my company carry a GuardTrax™ device?
No. GuardTrax™ is designed to be used at individual post locations. For example, if a specific post is staffed with a security officer 24 hours a day / seven days a week, then that post would be equipped with a single GuardTrax™ to be used by all of the officers working at that location. The device is simply passed from officer to officer as the shifts change.

How frequently does GuardTrax™ transmit the location data for each post or security officer?
GuardTrax™ is designed to transmit a security officer’s location every 5, 10 or 15 minutes.

How long will GuardTrax™ work on a single battery charge?
A standard reporting configuration generates a location transmission every five minutes. Based on that time interval, the battery life on a single charge is approximately 12 hours. GuardTrax™ includes a “hot swap” battery, enabling users to quickly exchange the depleted battery with a full-charged battery.

How long will it take to recoup my monthly investment for each GuardTrax™?
In GuardTrax™ sample studies and market research, it has been determined that the device will pay for itself many times over per month via reduced supervision expenditures, vehicle/fuel costs, security officer inefficiencies, reduced business liability and risk.
